描述
What is Magnesium Chloride: Uses, Specification ,Warnings ?
Calcium chloride is an ionic compound of calcium and chlorine. It is highly soluble in water and it is deliquescent. It is a salt that is solid at room temperature, and it behaves as atypical ionic halide. It has several common applications such as brine for refrigerations plants, ice and dust control on roads, and in cement. It can be produced directly from limestone, but large amounts are also produced as a by-product of the Solvay process. Because of its hygroscopic nature, it must be kept in tightly-sealed containers.
Medical use: can make 2% calcium chloride injection, used to treat hypocalcemia.
Food use: Calcium chloride can be added in food as calcium fortifier, can also be used as tofu and cheese coagulant. Calcium chloride can be added to alcoholic beverages and cool beverages.
Industrial use: multi-purpose desiccant, such as nitrogen, oxygen, hydrogen, hydrogen chloride, sulfur dioxide and other gas drying. Used as dehydrating agent in the production of alcohols, esters, ethers and acrylic resins. Calcium chloride aqueous solution is an important refrigerant for refrigerating machine and ice making. It can accelerate the hardening of concrete and increase the cold resistance of building mortar. It is an excellent antifreeze for building.
